I read an interesting statistic yesterday in a back issue of The Times Newspaper - up to 50,000 people in the UK alone, legally change their name EVERY YEAR! Yet in 1996 only 270 people changed their name by deed poll...
That is especially interesting because it suggests that more and more people may be opening up to the idea that our names affect us. Hopefully more and more will get a professional numerology name meaning reading before they make the change so that they know that their new name will be better for them than the old name.

Do you know how your parents chose your name? Did they pick it from a baby name book, or perhaps you were named after a relative, or someone famous they admired? If you were named after someone, can you see any similar traits between you? Members of the same family who share the same surname will obviously have the traits of that name in common - and if a first or second name adds up to the same number as another family member then they will share a lot of traits. If a family has a negative surname, the whole family may have a struggle in their lives.

Ever noticed that some people with names that seem completely different actually come across as having very similar personalities? For instance, you may have friends called Mary and Pamela who seem very alike. Or David and Thomas. I read the other day that Angelina Jolie asked her friends thoughts about the name she came up with for the boy she has just adopted - Pax Thien. She wanted to make sure there was nothing negative in the name. Her motives are fantastic, but unless one of her friends has trained in Name Numerology, which I doubt, then it's all as hit and miss as other methods out there, which is so sad when the intentions are so good.
She needs to know what her child's FULL name indicates and then she will be in a great position to not only choose a good first name for her child but will also be able to understand ALL about them.

I can hardly believe it - when I keyed in 'Baby name' to google, there are 168 million sites!! That just goes to show how important choosing the right baby name must be to people, for all those sites to be in business!
I am hoping that through this blog, and my website www.true-meaning-of-names.com I can help people see that just knowing the standard 'meaning' of a baby name doesn't tell you anything like enough about how that name will affect that child. Most systems out there seem to just give a few words about each name. They don't tell you the personality traits or the meaning of the individual letters of each name.
For instance, look up the name HARRY on most lists and it will give the meaning as 'home ruler' or something similar. Hmmm. How does that help you decide if that is the right name for your baby?!

As we all know, pop stars, actors and actresses and many others in the world of entertainment have different names today to the names they were born with. Why do so many people in the world of entertainment choose to change their name? Well, they seem to have caught on to the fact that making a name change can not only change you as a person, but also what happens to you in your life.
A positive name can bring more career success, can bring out our acting or singing ability and can contain positive letters that bring more positive events into our life. We will never know if they would have been just as successful with their former name, but let's hazard a guess - can you really imagine Elton John being a worldwide superstar with his original name Reginald Dwight??

Many parents-to-be think that it's a nice gesture to name their baby after a relative, perhaps a grandparent or uncle or aunt. They may even give their baby 2 or 3 middle names so that all the favorite relatives feel happy! Nothing wrong with that! Or is there...
Well, how many people stop to think about whether the relative whose name they are taking for their newborn actually had a happy, healthy, fulfilled life? You may think, well, Uncle Ian was very successful, let's name our baby boy after him. But how do you know whether Uncle Ian's first name was the name that helped bring him success - maybe it was his surname. And what do you really know about all the other areas of his life? Was he actually a nice person?

Positive Names - Is Yours One?

Have you noticed how some people seem to have charmed lives, good luck always seems to be on their side and they flow effortlessly through life? Are you one of those people? Or are you someone who always seems to be struggling, and if there's bad luck around you'll attract it? Maybe you fall somewhere between these two extremes.
Could any of the above scenarios possibly be because, in part, of the name someone has? 'No' would have been my answer once. Now, it is a resounding 'Yes'. Your name is affecting you, whether you believe it is or not, every day of your life, for good or for bad.
